This is a hands-on Design Engineer role focused on producing accurate, high-quality designs to support the manufacture and installation of large-scale engineered products. You'll support projects from initial design approval through to fabrication and construction, working closely with internal teams and external clients.

Key responsibilities
- Produce detailed, to-scale 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Create general arrangements, fabrication drawings, sheet metal projections and access steelwork designs
- Manage and control drawings through Vault, coordinating with sales and contracts teams
- Apply engineering principles and material knowledge to assess manufacturability and constructability
- Prepare manufacturing lists and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Liaise with contracts managers, site teams and installation crews on technical construction matters
- Work closely with production planning and manufacturing on fabrication details
- Attend internal and client design reviews as required
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, health & safety requirements and internal procedures
The successful candidate
- Holds GCSEs in core technical subjects and/or a CAD-related qualification; degree-qualified engineers are encouraged
- Strong experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro (iLogic advantageous)
- Background in sheet metal, steel fabrication or structural engineering design
- Confident producing BOMs and working to tight project deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret and challenge technical drawings
- Strong communicator who enjoys working with customers and cross-functional teams
- Organised, commercially aware and keen to develop professionally
