The R&D Design Engineer role calls for an innovative individual with a flair for design within the white goods Industrial/Manufacturing sector. This position is crucial in developing and enhancing products within the businesses Engineering & Manufacturing department in Lincoln.
Our client is a widely respected entity within the white goods Industrial/Manufacturing industry. They are a large organisation with a firm foothold in the market. Their commitment to producing top-tier products and fostering a culture of excellence sets them apart. With around 250 heads on site, the role that R&D plays in driving new product innovation and also alterations to existing products is paramount.
The responsibilities for the R&D Design Engineer are as follows:
- Design and develop innovative white goods products for the Engineering & Manufacturing department.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to enhance existing products in order to maximise usage of the product range.
- Utilise CAD software (Solidworks, SolidEdge, Inventer) for design purposes.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are feasible.
- Conduct thorough testing of designs to ensure functionality and safety.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and implement them into designs where applicable.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure smooth project completion.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations.
A successful R&D Design Engineer should have the following:
- A HNC, HND, NVQ or equivalent in an Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks, SolidEdge or Inventer).
- A demonstrable background across R&D/product development environment is key.
