An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality leader to shape and elevate a high-performing function within a growing, technical manufacturing environment. This role will drive both systems and culture to support operational excellence and business growth.

Our client is a well-established, globally recognised engineering and manufacturing business operating within a technical, assembly-led environment. From their flagship South Birmingham site, they supply complex and highly regulated markets, known for innovation, product quality, and a strong customer-centric approach. With ambitious growth plans, the organisation is investing in its operational capabilities and is seeking a forward-thinking Quality leader to help build a more agile, scalable function that supports both current delivery and future expansion.

Reporting into the Operations Director, the Head of Quality will lead a team of 7. The role will be instrumental in developing and embedding a modern, agile quality framework that aligns with a complex manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the Quality team, enhancing capability and performance
  • Driving improvements across Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) and Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Establishing robust yet flexible quality systems to support growth and operational efficiency
  • Embedding a culture of quality excellence across the site
  • Acting as a key interface with customers, ensuring high levels of confidence, communication and compliance
  • Supporting operational and strategic initiatives to enable business expansion
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements

This is a site-based role in South Birmingham with travel required as part of the position.

The successful Head of Quality will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership capability and a progressive mindset. You will be comfortable operating in a regulated, customer-facing manufacturing environment and capable of driving meaningful change.

Key experience and attributes include:

  • Background within highly regulated manufacturing industries (e.g. construction, aerospace, oil gas or similar complex supply chains)
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 7 or more
  • Strong technical foundation within engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise across QA, QC and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Confident engaging with customers and representing the business externally
  • A growth mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

The Head of Quality will receive £75,000 - £80,000 + benefits package.
