A Head of QHSE vacancy with a growing assembly-based manufacturer in Leeds. With continued year on year growth, the business is looking to grow their management team with the introduction of this strategic position to sit above both the Quality, H S and Environmental teams.
My client is a hugely successful Leeds based manufacturer who supplies an exceptional range of engineered products to a large customer base, both across the UK and internationally. Having experienced impressive growth in recent years, they are now looking to expand their manufacturing leadership team with the introduction of a Head of QHSE. This role will provide strategic leadership, ensure compliance and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
The Head of QHSE will report directly into the Managing Director and will have overall responsibility for all Q HSE activities on site. The main priorities of this role are to:
- Lead the QHSE team and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Operations colleagues to embed world-class QHSE practices.
- Develop, implement and oversee an integrated QHSE framework, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and any additional industry standards.
- Ensure robust quality assurance and improvement procedures are developed, implemented and maintained across the business.
- Maintain product compliance and certification requirements for manufacturing, including documentation, NCR control and continuous improvement.
- Oversee integrated QHSE management systems compliance including internal audits, customer audits and external certification body engagements.
- Report on QHSE performance to the board members, providing insights, KPIs and recommendations for improvement.
Successful candidates will have a strong manufacturing background and a proven ability in managing QHSE teams before. You will also possess:
- Proven experience in managing both Q HSE, ideally with a bias towards quality.
- Sound knowledge of quality tools and techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO and 45001.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally.
- An innovative, customer focused approach.
- Experience in the heavy manufacturing / engineering fields.
- Good people leadership skillset, with a passion for developing emerging talent.
- A data-driven and continuous improvement mindset.
- A NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.
