The Interim Electronics Testing Engineer will support and lead all validation programs for electronic components/products, validating to key product specifications, supporting customers in the areas of research and development, new product introduction and VA/VE programs.

The interim Electronics Testing Engineer responsibilities will include:

  • Support preparation & selection of validation plans for electronic components based on the product specification.
  • Execute multiple, complex, long duration tests designed to stress micro-electronic circuitry both thermally and mechanically.
  • Support root cause analysis when failure mode is detected.
  • Responsible for maintaining and setting up Laboratory tests to company and international standards.
  • Comprehensive test report writing.
  • Work alongside Design Engineering supporting new product introductions and R&D projects.
  • Working with a variety of electrical and electronic Laboratory equipment.
  • Analysis of micro-electronic circuitry /PCBs with respect to:
    • Electronic measurement of voltage, current, power circuitry and micro-components.
    • Measurement analysis of circuit component performance, using multi-meter, oscilloscope, PICO trace software.
    • DFMEA root cause analysis - dissection of product and control circuit to establish root cause of failure.
    • Provide micro-electronics circuitry design / improvement recommendations.
    • Understand cause and effect of additions / removal / changes to electronic components within the PCB.
  • Assist with maintenance & repair of electrical / electronic based Laboratory functions.
  • Support in-house e. panel builds.

The successful Interim Electronics Testing Engineer should have:

  • Proven experience in a Micro-Electronics design / applications background.
  • Previous experience with Brushless Motor Control required.
  • BEng (Hons) in Electronics, or in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
  • Additional electronics based practical qualifications desirable, e.g. BS7671 Wiring Regs, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
  • Excellent understanding of PCB components and circuitry.
  • Excellent understanding of Dynamics & Control.
  • Availability to start on short notice.

Competitive hourly rate of Β£25-30 per hour, based on experience and expertise, inside IR35. Opportunity to work with a respected organisation in the industrial and manufacturing sector. Temporary ongoing role offering valuable experience in a dynamic environment. Based onsite in Dewsbury.
