This is a high-level commercial leadership role responsible for the end-to-end strategic growth, financial performance, and market authority of a major product category. You will lead a team of Product Managers to translate deep market insights into multi-year plans while influencing senior stakeholders to ensure long-term profitability and innovation.
Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, supporting the growth and evolution of the product team. The role is about shifting from simple product management to strategic commercial ownership. You aren’t just managing a list of items; you are responsible for the financial success, market reputation, and long-term road map of your specific business unit.
The 4 Core Pillars of the Job:
- Strategic Commercial Ownership: You are fully accountable for the financial performance, ROI, and sustainable growth of your categories. You turn raw data into "decisive action," using metrics to prove why a product stays, goes, or gets launched.
- Market & Product Knowledge: You are the "go-to" expert. You must deeply understand customer behaviour, macroeconomic trends, and what competitors are doing. You lead the product full life cycle: from identifying an opportunity in the market and developing the "proposition," to managing the launch and eventual phase-out.
- Effective Stakeholder Engagement: You will work closely with multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels, you need the gravitas to pitch multi-year plans and get buy-in from senior stakeholders. You are the key conduit between Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure everyone is pulling in the same direction to grow the category.
- Leadership: You will lead a team of Product Managers supporting them in the evolution of their skills to deliver a culture of commercial thinking with a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
