Job Description Our client is a well established and growing SME metal manufacturing company who are currently recruiting a Factory Manager to run one of their production facilities We are a well-established and growing SME manufacturing company currently seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee one of our production facilities. Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of operational processes, equipment, systems and infrastructure to achieve business goals and objectives. Overseeing production planning and scheduling to meet operational targets and customer expectations, while monitoring process and team performance to identify and remove any barriers to delivery. Ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulatory, health and safety requirements, while maintaining a safe, efficient and high-performing manufacturing environment. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective corrective actions to drive operational performance. Conducting regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, coaching and development to build a high-performing team. Driving operational efficiencies, cost optimisation and margin improvement across the manufacturing operation. Identifying and implementing automation and technology solutions to improve productivity, quality and overall operational efficiency. Manufacturing Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of manufacturing health and safety requirements, with the ability to identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate measures to ensure compliance and protect employees, the environment and the site. Budget Management: Ability to effectively plan, manage and administer budgets in line with organisational policies and business objectives. Quality Management: Sound understanding of quality management principles, tools and techniques, with the ability to establish and maintain a culture focused on achieving and exceeding quality standards. Performance Management: Proven understanding of effective performance management practices, with the ability to develop and improve individual, team and overall business performance through structured processes and coaching. Knowledge and practical understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies, with a proven ability to apply continuous improvement techniques to enhance business performance. Manufacturing Standards, Procedures & Policies: Strong understanding of manufacturing standards, procedures and policies, with the ability to plan, manage and monitor production processes to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Manufacturing Leadership: Demonstrable career progression within a manufacturing environment, including experience in formal manufacturing or production leadership roles. Production Site Management: Proven experience in a manufacturing or operations management role with direct responsibility for a production site. Sustainable Manufacturing & Automation: Experience or strong interest in sustainable manufacturing practices, technological innovation and the implementation of automation solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. Computer literate, with the ability to confidently use standard business and manufacturing-related software and systems. Competitive salary between Β£50,000 and Β£70,000, dependent on the level of experience. Permanent position within the industrial and manufacturing sector.
