As an Assistant Accountant in the public sector, based in Farnham, you'll support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring smooth and accurate accounting processes. You'll play a key role in maintaining financial records, assisting with budgeting, and preparing reports that help the organisation achieve its goals.

Description

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the budgeting process by gathering and analysing financial data.
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities.
  • Provide support for audits and ensure timely responses to queries.
  • Collaborate with the wider Accounting & Finance team to improve financial processes.

Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in accounting or finance.
  • Experience in financial record-keeping and reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • An eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Offer

  • Salary between Β£35,000 and Β£37,000 dependent on the level of experience.
