The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.

The primary objective is to assist the Team's Directors in identifying potential new clients and expanding business with existing clients by exploring new opportunities and generating ideas. Key duties include:

  • Supporting the ongoing management of client relationships, identifying potential new clients, and assessing risk.
  • Preparing marketing materials, pitch books, and related documents.
  • Structuring and pricing new loan facilities and preparing indicative term sheets for approval by senior management.
  • Preparing commercial proposals for submission to internal approval authorities, including calculating returns using the Bank's internal risk models.
  • Coordinating with internal departments, such as Financial Markets, Capital Markets & Advisory, Transaction Services, Loan Distribution Group, and Sustainability, to ensure that clients have access to the full range of bank products and that returns are maximized.
  • Collaborating with other Shipping Finance teams at the bank, including those in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, New York, and Singapore, to share best practices.
  • Creating internal and external presentations, as well as supporting research material.

Profile

Essential:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in banking within a lending team.
  • A collaborative and inclusive team player with proven ability to work across various business lines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a deal-oriented, deadline-driven environment, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong numerical skills, proficiency in Excel, an inquisitive mindset, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • A degree-level education with a solid understanding of accounting principles to interpret financial statements and create forward-looking financial projections, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the shipping industry and a strong interest in macroeconomics.
  • CFA Level I or higher.
