We are seeking a dedicated Payments Clerk to play a key role within the Banking & Financial Services Department in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and reconciling transactions, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.

Our client is a renowned entity in the financial services industry. Being a large organisation, they have a substantial influence in the sector and are known for their commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high business standards. This role will be based in the City of London and the candidate will be required to be in the office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing of Retail and Private Banking customer payments.
  • Checking payment authorisation is at the correct level.
  • Interpreting required action from the customers' instructions.
  • Payment input to Equation Banking System or Swift Alliance as appropriate.
  • Second call back procedure to clients where necessary.
  • For payments received from Corporate and Institutional customers:
  • Checking the authenticity of the payment and obtaining any necessary authorisations.
  • Checking for available funds and arranging credit referrals as necessary.
  • Liaising with customers by telephone and electronic means as necessary.
