NUGENT are seeking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for Mechanical and Electrical projects. You will be based between the Pomeroy and Belfast offices. You will be a motivated and reliable individual who brings enthusiasm and positivity to the team and you should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
- Contract review and negotiation with Main Contractors/ Clients.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on behalf of the company, ensuring competitive pricing and favourable terms.
- Administer construction contracts in line with agreed terms and management of the payment processes.
- Accurately measure and value work completed, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and drawings.
- Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements, tracking project progress and identifying any potential budget deviations.
- Identify and assess potential financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about project costs, progress, and potential changes.
- Collaborate with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and support services to ensure project success.
- Conduct other duties as directed by management.
- 5 years post graduate experience in a QS role within the Construction Industry.
- Highly motivated hard-working individual who can work on their own or as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Applicants must have a clean driving license.
- Self-motivated, with a can-do approach to work and willingness to learn and assist.
- Willing to travel to UK as required.
