I'm currently hiring for a: Technical Solutions Specialist
Hybrid working | 2 days onsite, 3 days from home
Competitive salary Β£50-60K | Immediate start available
Location Bedford - driving is much easier than public transport but not a prerequisite for the role.
I'm partnering with an established enterprise software business specialising in product lifecycle management, formulation and regulatory compliance to find a Technical Solutions Specialist.
This is an opportunity for a technically minded problem-solver who enjoys getting under the bonnet of complex systems, investigating root causes and helping customers make different technologies work together.
You'll sit at the intersection of Customer Support, Solutions Delivery, Product and Software Development, acting as the technical bridge between customers and engineering teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading technical discovery and supporting complex customer solutions.
- Investigating challenging application issues, identifying root causes and resolving problems wherever possible.
- Troubleshooting APIs, web services, integrations, databases, application logs and customer environments.
- Supporting technical implementations, system upgrades, migrations and deployments.
- Working directly with customer IT teams and integration partners to understand requirements and resolve technical challenges.
- Providing Development teams with clear, evidence-based investigations when software defects need to be escalated.
- Building repeatable troubleshooting processes and sharing technical knowledge across the business.
What we're looking for:
You'll have strong technical investigation and root-cause analysis skills, alongside experience in areas such as:
- Relational databases and SQL.
- REST APIs, SOAP/web services, JSON/XML and authentication.
- Application servers, Windows services, logs and hosted environments.
- System integrations, data mapping and troubleshooting.
- Communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in enterprise software, application support (L2/L3), technical consultancy, solutions engineering or technical implementation would be particularly relevant.
Experience with SQL Server, DB2, ERP systems, SaaS or on-premise enterprise applications would be advantageous.
The opportunity
This isn't a routine support role, nor is it a pure software development position. It's ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, understanding how systems interact and taking ownership of an investigation from initial discovery through to resolution.
You'll join a collaborative, customer-focused team within an established international software business, with opportunities to develop deep product expertise over time.
Working pattern: Tuesday and Wednesday onsite, with three days working from home. The office is based at a parkland science and business campus in Bedfordshire. Occasional travel may be required.
