Who You Are

The Vice President, Planning plays a pivotal role leading our omni‑channel planning strategy across retail, e‑commerce, outlet, and wholesale channels within EMEA. This executive will shape a forward‑looking planning vision that elevates customer experience, optimizes inventory productivity, drives profitable growth, and strengthens Michael Kors's position as a world‑class luxury lifestyle brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Planning Leadership
    • Develop and execute the EMEA merchandise planning strategy for Retail, Ecommerce, and Wholesale, ensuring alignment with global brand, merchandising, and financial objectives.
    • Create long‑range demand plans and growth scenarios, balancing regional nuance with global frameworks.
    • Lead seasonal and annual planning cycles, ensuring buy plans, OTB, and assortment strategies meet commercial, operational, and profitability targets.
  • Inventory, Forecasting & Optimization
    • Drive forecast accuracy across all channels, leveraging advanced analytics, historical sales patterns, and market trends.
    • Oversee inventory health-including flow, driving allocation strategy, replenishment, markdown optimization, inventory productivity and end‑of‑life management-to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
    • Partner closely with Supply Chain to ensure forecast alignment, flow sequencing, and distribution strategies.
    • Build advanced forecasting capabilities, tools, and methodologies (AI‑enabled forecasting, predictive analytics, replenishment algorithms).
    • Provide aligned demand plans for production and financial planning.
  • Channel Planning Ownership
    • Own planning performance across all customer touchpoints-retail, e‑commerce, and wholesale, ensuring localization strategies, optimize sales, productivity, and inventory turn.
    • Trade product strategically between channels maximizing sales, margin and sell thru from buy-through to liquidation.
    • Partner with Ecommerce leadership to drive digital demand, inventory availability, and promotional strategies-ensuring seamless coordination with omnichannel initiatives.
    • Lead wholesale planning in alignment with key partners, ensuring accurate forecasts, capacity planning, shipment targets, and productive assortments.
    • Partner with Merchandising and Commercial teams to build seasonal strategies that maximize channel‑specific opportunities.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Act as a strategic partner to all other key functional areas: Merchandising, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Regional Leadership.
    • Provide planning leadership and insights in EMEA leadership forums.
    • Ensure effective communication between global and regional teams, translating global directives into actionable regional programs.
    • Influence business decisions through clear, actionable insights and scenario planning.
  • Team Leadership & Organizational Development
    • Build and scale a high‑performing, multi‑channel planning organization across EMEA.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop planning talent; define capabilities needed for future growth and implement development pathways.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, analytical excellence, and cross‑functional partnership.
  • Business Performance Management
    • Own planning KPIs including forecast accuracy, inventory turn, gross margin return, in‑stock rate, and markdown efficiency.
    • Deliver clear reporting and insights facilitating informed decision‑making.
    • Identify risks and opportunities early, recommending actionable strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12-15+ years of merchandise planning, demand planning, or allocation experience, with significant leadership in multi‑channel environments.
  • Proven success leading planning functions across Retail, Ecommerce, and Wholesale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in complex, matrixed global organizations with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic skill set; mastery of planning systems, forecasting tools, and data‑driven decision frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people‑development capabilities.
  • Background in fashion, luxury, or consumer goods industries preferred.
