We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Specialist that can be based in London, Milan, Madrid or Paris:
Department Overview
The Employee Relations function exists to enable all colleagues to deliver their best work. We will support line managers across our retail stores in the EMEA region with Employee Relations matters. We drive team excellence, enabling brilliant customer experience and successful outcomes that improve engagement and profitability. We are pro-active in educating store teams and also supportive when things get tricky. We provide clarity, compassion and focus – all in line with local legislation.
What you’ll do:
Part of the Employee Relations (ER) function, you will deliver consistent, fair and positive outcomes for our Retail business on all people matters. We strive for commercial outcomes whilst also proactively mitigating risk and employee experience. The role is critical in driving standards of line management support in our stores whilst also using data to drive improvements on specific trends. You will be part of a team of regional experts, supporting a number of stores across a defined region. Key stakeholders for this role will be our Retail store Management teams, HR Business Partners and the Employee Experience Team.
- Be the first point of contact for Retail Store Management teams who need support in managing their workforce.
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with the Employee Experience team to ensure a seamless service is delivered for routine employee lifecycle queries.
- Provide advice and counsel to the store teams in your region on topics ranging from policy interpretation, internal investigations, performance management, harassment, discrimination and dismissals.
- Support the Senior Manager, Employee Relations and Senior HR Business Partner(s) on matters relating to workforce reduction.
- Assist with supporting documentation for all reductions in workforce, restructures, and ad-hoc position eliminations.
- Work hand-in-hand with the HR Business Partners to ensure alignment on matters you are owning to align outcomes with the Commercial needs of the business.
- Work with internal legal counsel and, where appropriate, external counsel to ensure compliance with all local legislation on topics such as conducting workplace investigations, performance management.
- Maintain awareness of legal trends and updates that impact your region.
- Be an active member of the Employee Relations team, supporting the evolution of the function by spotting trends, improvement areas and opportunities to improve the performance of our stores.
Investigations
- Partner closely with our Loss Prevention team and provide expertise on the investigation and successful resolution of ER issues and complaints.
- Assist our Store Managers in investigations to reach a commercially minded outcome that improves store performance whilst also minimizing legal risk.
- Escalate issues that come with significant risk to the business to the relevant HR Business Partner and/or Senior Manager, Employee Relations to ensure you have the right level of support.
Employee Relations Case Management, Data and Reporting
- Utilise tools and resources to support a case management approach that ensures effective and efficient response and resolution to employee matters.
- Maintain accurate records of all ER cases to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
- Work in the agreed, consistent way to ensure seamless service delivery and handover of cases when needed.
- This will also ensure that Data and trends are available to be interpreted at a store, country and EMEA level.
- Support investment in training opportunities that have maximum impact.
- Contribute to policy development initiatives.
Change Programme Delivery
- In Partnership with the HR Business Partner, support the implementation and execution of ER-related change initiatives (e.g., organizational restructures, legislation changes which may impact ways of working).
- Proactively escalate risks to relevant senior stakeholders.
Training
- In partnership with the HR Business Partners and, in line with our strategy, regularly visit stores to deliver training that improves leader capability and builds ER acumen on subjects including performance and absence management.

- 4+ years of experience in HR.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage complex, judgment-based scenarios.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a wide range of stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR technology platforms.
- Analytical skills for reporting and data accuracy.
