We're partnering with a highly successful, fast-growing organisation to appoint an exceptional Senior Technology Leader who is passionate about modern technology, engineering excellence and innovation.
This is not a traditional leadership role.
We're looking for an engineer's engineer—someone who remains deeply engaged with technology, enjoys solving complex problems and has the technical credibility to influence senior stakeholders while earning the respect of engineering teams.
You'll help shape the organisation's technology strategy across Cloud, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Data and AI, acting as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership while driving innovation, modernisation and continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on learning, embraces emerging technologies and is motivated by solving difficult technical challenges rather than simply managing people.
The Role
You'll provide technical leadership across the wider technology landscape, helping the business make informed decisions around architecture, engineering, security, cloud and data.
Working closely with senior executives and technical teams, you'll evaluate new technologies, challenge existing approaches and help deliver a modern, scalable and secure technology estate.
Rather than owning a single technical discipline, you'll sit across multiple functions, providing strategic guidance while remaining close enough to the technology to understand the detail.
The successful individual will be naturally inquisitive, commercially aware and genuinely passionate about technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and influence the organisation's overall technology strategy.
- Provide technical leadership across Cloud, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Data and AI.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to solve complex business and technical challenges.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
- Support technology modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve resilience, scalability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security and data teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Provide technical oversight across key programmes and technology investments.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
- Promote engineering best practice, technical excellence and continuous learning across the technology function.
About You
You're someone who genuinely loves technology.
You don't just manage engineers—you understand how they think because you've been one yourself.
You're naturally curious and constantly learning, whether that's exploring new AI capabilities, cloud technologies or emerging engineering practices in your own time.
You enjoy solving problems, challenging conventional thinking and bringing practical, well-informed solutions to the table.
While you're capable of operating at executive level, you've never lost your technical credibility.
- Significant experience in senior technology leadership positions.
- Broad technical knowledge spanning Cloud, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Data and modern engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud.
- Experience leading technology strategy and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
- Excellent knowledge of modern architecture, infrastructure and platform technologies.
- Strong understanding of cyber security principles and enterprise resilience.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver complex technology solutions.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into commercial outcomes.
- A genuine passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Experience within technology consultancies, software companies, Saa S organisations or engineering-led businesses.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning or emerging technology initiatives.
- Experience leading cloud-first transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Experience working across international technology environments.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join a business that genuinely values technical expertise.
You'll work alongside senior leadership while remaining close to technology, giving you the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, champion innovation and help shape the future direction of the organisation's technology landscape.
If you're the type of leader who enjoys staying hands-on, is constantly exploring what's next in technology and wants to work in an environment where your technical opinion truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.
