We are looking for an experienced Data Product Owner to join our Data & Analytics function within a leading insurance organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of data products that enable better decision-making, improve operational performance, and support strategic business outcomes.
You will work at the centre of business, data, and technology — defining product vision, managing roadmaps, and collaborating with delivery teams to build trusted, scalable data capabilities.
As a Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for owning the lifecycle of data products, from strategy and discovery through to delivery and continuous improvement. You will partner with business stakeholders, data teams, engineers, analysts, and senior leaders to ensure data solutions deliver measurable value across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products.
- Identify opportunities where data can improve business outcomes and customer experiences.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear product requirements.
- Prioritise product backlogs based on business value, strategic importance, and delivery impact.
- Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Analysts, Data Scientists, and Technology teams.
- Support the delivery of data platforms, reporting solutions, analytics capabilities, and data products.
- Ensure data products are scalable, trusted, and aligned with governance standards.
- Drive adoption of data solutions across business functions.
- Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Champion data quality, accessibility, and effective use of analytics.
- Communicate product vision and progress to senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner, Data Product Owner, or similar role.
- Strong experience delivering data-focused products or technology solutions.
- Understanding of data platforms, analytics, BI, and reporting environments.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical outcomes.
- Experience managing product backlogs, priorities, and delivery roadmaps.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Knowledge of the London Market / Lloyd’s insurance environment.
- Experience with underwriting, claims, broking, or operational roles.
