We are looking for an experienced BI Analyst to join our data and analytics function within a leading insurance organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly data-driven environment, supporting business teams with actionable insights, reporting solutions, and data-led decision making across the organisation.
You will play a key role in translating complex business requirements into effective BI solutions, working closely with stakeholders, data teams, and technology functions to deliver meaningful analytics capabilities.
As a BI Analyst, you will support the development and delivery of reporting, dashboards, and analytical solutions that enable better business decisions. You will work across the full BI lifecycle — from gathering requirements and analysing data through to building dashboards, improving data quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and business insights.
- Work with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, operations, finance, and corporate functions.
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
- Build data visualisations that communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support improvements to data quality, governance, and reporting standards.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Product teams to deliver BI capabilities.
- Investigate data issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Support data-driven transformation initiatives across the organisation.
- Promote best practices around reporting, analytics, and self-service BI.
- Proven experience working as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience extracting and manipulating data.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI preferred).
- Understanding of data modelling, reporting structures, and analytics principles.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly.
- Experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of the London Market / Lloyd’s insurance environment.
- Experience working with data warehouses and enterprise data platforms.
- Exposure to Azure data technologies or Microsoft data stack.
- Understanding of Agile delivery and SDLC processes.
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Salary up to £65,000.
- Hybrid working model with 2–3 days per week in the London office.
