A leading Lloyd's market insurer is looking to appoint an experienced Digital Product Owner to play a pivotal role in the delivery of its digital transformation strategy. Working as the right-hand person to the Programme Lead, you'll take ownership of key digital products and initiatives, acting as the bridge between the business, technology teams and third-party delivery partners. This is a highly visible role with regular interaction across underwriting, operations, technology and executive stakeholders, making it ideal for someone who enjoys influencing strategy as well as driving successful delivery.
You’ll help shape and deliver innovative digital capabilities that improve the broker and customer experience, streamline submission and ingestion processes, and support the organisation's wider transformation agenda.
The Role
- Own and manage the product roadmap for strategic digital initiatives.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to define product vision, priorities and success measures.
- Gather, refine and prioritise business requirements into well-defined user stories.
- Act as the primary liaison between business users, technology teams and third-party vendors.
- Work closely with offshore development teams and delivery partners to ensure successful execution.
- Drive Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning and product reviews.
- Ensure digital products support underwriting, operations and broker-facing processes.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across multiple business functions, presenting confidently to senior leadership.
- Support the delivery of digital transformation initiatives focused on improving customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Work alongside Programme Leadership to ensure projects remain aligned with strategic objectives.
- Manage product risks, dependencies and delivery timelines.
- Monitor product performance and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
About You
- We're looking for an experienced Digital Product Owner with a strong background delivering digital initiatives within the Lloyd's insurance market.
- You’ll be commercially minded, an excellent communicator and comfortable working across both business and technical teams.
- Extensive experience within the Lloyd's and London Market insurance sector.
- Approximately 10–15 years' experience delivering technology and digital transformation initiatives.
- Previous experience as a Product Owner, Digital Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst operating in Agile environments.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation programmes.
- Experience delivering solutions focused on digital submissions, data ingestion or underwriting workflows.
- Proven ability to engage confidently with senior business stakeholders.
- Experience managing third-party technology vendors and offshore development teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on product ownership.
- Experience working with London Market digital initiatives including submission, placement or underwriting platforms.
- Knowledge of API-led integrations and digital ecosystems.
- Experience working with global delivery partners such as Cognizant or similar.
- Exposure to cloud-based platforms and modern digital architecture.
- Insurance qualifications or Agile certifications would be advantageous.
