My client, a start-up SaaS provider, is seeking a hands-on QA Engineer. This role would suit those who are able to work autonomously, at a fast pace with a forward-thinking attitude.
Required:
- Practical experience using API testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia, REST Client, or similar
- Ability to write basic test scripts in Python, JavaScript, or Bash
- Solid understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response formats
- Experience working with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, systematic testing approach
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience organizing test suites and documenting test cases
- Demonstrated ability to uncover meaningful bugs and edge cases
- A collaborative attitude with a willingness to mentor and share knowledge with the team
Nice to Have:
- SQL proficiency for validating data
- Experience handling API versioning and backward-compatibility considerations
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and API keys
- Knowledge of webhook testing and asynchronous API patterns
