An Assistant Accountant is required by a European fashion brand, also responsible for Accounts Payable. As their group maintains a consistent upward trajectory, this role will have an important part to play in our newly formed European finance team. Key responsibilities across UK & European entities: 1. Responsible for maintaining and posting to GL including bank and purchase processing. 2. Assist with monthly close and BS & P&L reviews 3. Prepare, update and reconcile all intercompany transitory accounts. 4. Create intercompany service fee invoicing 5. External tax reporting including VAT, OSS, ICP for UK and EU entities 6. Payroll administration and contact for external Payroll agencies 7. Back up for others in the finance department Qualifications and requirements: Essential • Proven experience in general ledger management in a multicurrency environment and Accounts payable responsibilities. • A full or part professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, AT or equivalent, with experience in a assistant accountant role. • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial executives. • Proficiency in financial reporting/management software and Microsoft Excel with outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to drive change and to increase efficiency in a fast-paced environment and comfortable in working in a small organisation. Preferred • Experience in the fashion industry
