Working hours: 16 hours a week. Monday-Friday, office hours. Some flexibility required to cover occasional out of hours events.

Contract Type: Part time, fixed term 1 year. 5.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays.

Salary: £11,323 per annum (£26,539 FTE).

Start date: 01 July 2026.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Set in the beautiful grounds of Kidbrooke Mansion in the gateway to the Ashdown Forest, 30 miles south of London, Michael Hall School is the oldest Steiner Waldorf school in the UK. The School has a thriving community of parents, teachers and students, centred around this distinctive and much honoured approach to education.

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to focus on letting out the school and its facilities, to raise the profile of Michael Hall School and enhance the income from our facilities. This is a new standalone lettings role and requires someone with real vision, imagination, creativity and the ability to deliver strategy and promote commercial success.

Under the direction of the Principal, you will develop relationships with key stakeholders to secure successful regular lettings, and facilitate/promote the availability of the school during school holidays throughout the year. A key aspect of the role will be to develop additional revenue streams through the enterprise opportunities afforded by our beautiful grounds and the varied opportunities available from our school assets.

This part time role is offered at 16 hours per week with a salary of £11,323. This post comes with a performance related bonus opportunity. The details of this will be agreed with the successful applicant. The start date for this role will be 1st July 2026 (start date depending upon availability and notice period of successful applicant). This post is subject to safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements for schools. Successful applicants will be required to complete enhanced DBS checks.

Required Behaviours and Responsibilities

  • Management of bookings through the school platform, customer relations, venue booking, logistics, internal communications, calendar management and liaising with finance.
  • Management of Lettings mailbox, school lettings platform and calendar.
  • Develop and promote the school as a multi-use venue.
  • Implementation of a marketing strategy with the Principal to promote external events.
  • Enhance, promote and manage the school’s lettings programme with the goal of increasing revenue.
  • Support with fundraising events that engage the school with the local community.
  • Support with administrative tasks for the school where needed.
