The Role: Based at our modern Head Office in Huddersfield, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Contract Administrator/Building Surveyor to join our growing Contract Administration Team made up of Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers of varying experience from university graduates to more senior qualified professionals. Candidates should be both a team player with determination to drive projects forwards whilst also having the ability to work independently to achieve results. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' relevant post degree experience and will be either Chartered or intending to sit their final assessment at the next sitting.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on behalf of clients. This role is ideally suited to someone with tangible project management experience gained within a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy environment, leading projects from inception through to completion and acting as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects across their full lifecycle, providing leadership, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, controlling programme, risk and cost, and ensuring successful project outcomes for our clients. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, you will provide mentoring and support to junior team members and contribute to the continued growth and development of the team.

Key operational/project management duties include:

  • Understanding our agreed scope of services/project briefs.
  • Building and maintaining brilliant relationships with various clients.
  • Manage all aspects of project communication including administration activities such as issuing notices and certificates.
  • Manage contractors on site via visits and project meetings.
  • Plan resource needs against project programme and deliverables.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance procedures are followed, including key deliverables at each Stage.
  • Ensure project issues are dealt with in a timely manner, to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain regular communication with Team Leaders and Project Director to provide updates on project progress and fee expenditure.

Ideal Candidate:

  • RICS or CIOB accredited construction degree.
  • 5 years post qualification experience, ideally in both new build & refurbishment projects.
  • Proven technical & providing similar services in your current role.
  • Experience in managing teams providing guidance, mentoring and leadership skills to less experienced staff members.
  • Confident communicator & experienced in client facing roles.
  • Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project by project basis.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A ‘self-starter’ able to be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy & self-motivation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
