Salary: circa £30,000

We are a niche practice specialising in criminal defence litigation predominantly centred around road traffic law and we also deal with a wide range of criminal offences. We also practise in licensing law and a limited amount of public law including Judicial Reviews. We are dedicated to protecting our clients’ rights. Given our wide spectrum of cases, we are looking for a committed, detail-orientated Paralegal to join our passionate legal team. The firm is also looking to expand its reach both geographically and in terms of our client base.

The Role

You will provide crucial administrative support to our solicitors. This is a hands-on role requiring sharp critical thinking, empathy and ability to thrive under pressure. This role is based full-time at our office in Borough.

Key Responsibilities

• Case Management - maintain organised digital case file, manage administrative tasks
• Client liaison - act as point of contact for clients, attend client meetings
• Legal research - conduct thorough independent research without recourse to AI
• Evidence review - analyse police/CPS disclosure
• Document drafting - prepare Briefs, Proofs of Evidence, witness statements, appeal documents

Requirements

• A keen interest in criminal litigation and licensing
• Strong educational background
• Experience - 1-2 years’ experience as a legal assistant/paralegal preferred but not essential
• Police Station accreditation would be an advantage
• Skills - exceptional independent written and verbal communication
• Tech savvy - proficient using a case management software or able to learn quickly
• Attributes - emotional intelligence, adherence to strict confidentiality and strong time management
