Oursite in Bradford currently has an open, permanent, full-time position of Junior Product Development & Digital AI Analyst.
Oursite combines cosmetic product development with AI-driven innovation, acting as a bridge between cosmetic science, data science, and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
Data Preparation for AI
- Structure and analyse R&D data (formulations, raw materials, stability, safety, performance).
- Identify gaps and improve data quality for machine learning applications.
- Translate cosmetic formulation knowledge into structured data models.
- Collaborate with R&D and AI teams to develop AI-based formulation tools.
- Support continuous improvement of data pipelines and train colleagues on experiment setup.
Formulation Development
- Independently develop and optimize cosmetic products (face & sun care).
- Select and test raw materials for performance, stability, safety, and compliance.
- Conduct and document lab trials and comparative studies.
- Calculate and interpret product performance metrics.
- Understand ingredient-function relationships and potential AI applications.
Ideal Candidate
- Motivated junior scientist passionate about cosmetic development and AI integration.
- Hands‑on lab experience and structured scientific thinking.
- Education: Masters in Natural Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences (with interest in AI/data science).
- Desirable: Academic exposure to AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or applied statistics.
- Practical experience in lab work and experiment design.
- Ability to communicate complex approaches and results in a way that is understandable to non‑technical staff.
- Out‑of‑the‑box thinking, hands‑on mentality.
Basic knowledge of:
Data analysis, structures, and digital tools.
Programming (Python, R), SQL, Git, CI/CD, containerization.
Statistical tests (ANOVA, hypothesis testing).
Machine learning methods (random forest, gradient boosting).
ML model interpretability for cosmetic applications.
The role does not require professional programming skills, but candidates should be comfortable with basic Python, basic SQL, data cleaning, and preparing lab data for AI applications.
Working hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Hybrid (first 6 weeks requires working in Switzerland).
Salary
£26 – 30K depending on experience.
