The Associate Director of Curriculum, Accreditation, and State Alignment plays a central coordinating role in the Office of the Provost. The Associate Director helps ensure that curriculum governance, accreditation, state authorization, and transfer articulation work together as a connected academic process rather than as separate, parallel systems. The Associate Director works proactively with academic policy, curriculum, assessment, accreditation, and state regulation to identify risks early, clarify requirements, and highlight opportunities for improvement. The Associate Director advises and supports the Associate Provosts and the Provost’s Office utilizing established decision-making structures. Working in close partnership with the Associate Provosts, the Associate Director helps align timelines, processes, and information across systems that are otherwise separate, so that the university can act more clearly, strategically, and consistently in a complex regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aligning Academic Systems: Help align accreditation, state authorization, program assessment, and transfer articulation so that actions in one area inform and support work in the others. Help Associate Provosts translate accreditation, state, and transfer requirements into clear guidance for departments, academic leaders, and governance bodies. Monitor changes in accreditation standards, state policy, and regulatory guidance to anticipate implications for the university and surface risks or opportunities early.
  • Department Planning & Improvement (DPI) Integration: Work with the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Accreditation to manage the six-year comprehensive review cycle, mid-cycle reporting, and strategic improvement planning with curricular and regulatory processes. Provide programmatic support for yearly assessments to create cohesive feedback.
  • Transfer Articulation & Statewide Alignment: Help align curriculum and learning outcomes with statewide transfer frameworks, including TAGs, CTAGs, and Ohio Transfer 36. Work with academic units and Registrar staff to ensure that articulation, equivalency, and outcome alignment support both compliance and program improvement. Use transfer and articulation data to inform curricular coherence and improvement.
  • Institutional Memory and Record Integrity: In partnership with the Associate Provosts, Registrar, and Institutional Research, help maintain accurate, consistent, and accessible records related to curriculum, accreditation, state authorization, and transfer. Support the development and maintenance of clear and usable archives that promote continuity, transparency, and institutional learning over time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Policy, or a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in academic affairs, curriculum, accreditation, or registrar functions; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience. Consideration will be given to applicants with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in translating complex regulatory or policy requirements into usable guidance; demonstrable data management and database skills; experience working with faculty, administrators, and external agencies.
