Location: Near Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,178 rising to £32,439 after one year, plus an allowance of £600 per annum
Flexible working: this is a full-time role (37 hours per week). Due to the nature of the role, remote or home working is not possible. However, we will support flexible or compressed hours, subject to business need. Please note, occasional out-of-hours or weekend work may be required but this is very rare and usually only in an emergency.

- As a Buildings Maintenance Operative, you’ll help to deliver a safe, compliant and well-maintained estate that includes modern and historic spaces.
- You’ll experience plenty of variety as you carry out a wide range of emergency, planned and general maintenance tasks, from decoration, flooring and furnishing repairs, to minor plumbing, brick and plaster repairs and carpentry.
- You’ll work alongside a small, friendly in-house team as well as external contractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Together, you’ll ensure all tasks are done within agreed timescales and ensure our estate is a safe and pleasant environment.
- You’ll also maintain accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Whether you’re filling in risk assessments, method statements or Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments, you’ll make sure the estate’s compliance and policy documents are updated in line with the work that is carried out.
- It’s not just the estate you’ll be enhancing. You’ll have a say in how we improve our environmental impact. From waste reduction, energy conservation and biodiversity, to working with stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives, you’ll identify ways to minimise our footprint.
