As the M&I Sales Team Lead, you’ll guide the day‑to‑day performance of our front‑line sales team, turning commercial strategy into clear priorities, focused activity and measurable results. Reporting to the Global Director of Sales, you’ll take ownership of team revenue delivery, supplier acquisition, renewals and account growth. You’ll coach the team throughout the full sales cycle, lead pipeline and forecast reviews, address performance challenges and act as the first point of escalation for commercial or operational blockers. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who combines strong people management with commercial judgement and the ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
You’ll join our growing team of experienced, passionate people who have delivered hundreds of events worldwide and who bring creativity, precision and purpose to everything we do. This is a Permanent (Full-Time) opportunity reporting to the Global Director of Sales.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and line‑manage the M&I Sales team, setting clear expectations and creating accountability for commercial performance.
- Support capability development, recruitment and onboarding.
- Act as the first point of escalation for pricing, deal quality, supplier concerns and operational blockers.
- Own delivery against annual and event‑cycle revenue targets.
- Support sellers across prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation, closing, renewals and upsell.
- Drive new supplier acquisition across hotels, venues, destinations and wider MICE markets.
- Oversee renewals and rebookings, ensuring at‑risk accounts are managed early.
- Identify and grow account value through sponsorship, premium placement, multi‑property and multi‑event opportunities.
- Lead pipeline and forecast reviews.
- Ensure Salesforce data, deal stages and revenue forecasts are accurate and dependable.
- Work closely with Revenue Operations, Buyer Relations, Marketing and Event Operations to ensure propositions reflect buyer demand and commercial priorities.
- Bring supplier feedback, competitor intelligence and pipeline insight into sales planning and prioritisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading or formally managing a B2B sales team, including setting priorities, coaching performance and holding people accountable for results.
- A strong track record of delivering sales targets through a team, ideally within events, hospitality, hotels, venues, travel or the wider MICE sector.
- Strong knowledge of the full sales cycle including prospecting, qualification, relationship building, negotiation, closing, renewal, rebooking and upsell.
- Confidence conducting one-to-ones, setting objectives, giving clear feedback and managing underperformance.
- Strong commercial judgement, assessing pricing, value, conversion likelihood, account potential and deal risk.
- Experience managing team pipelines, forecasts and activity through Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use sales data to identify trends, risks and commercial priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Revenue Operations, Buyer Relations, Marketing and Event Operations.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Leadership or commercial experience across multiple international markets, bringing an understanding of how priorities differ by region.
- Familiarity with hosted buyer events or comparable B2B event products, with insight into supplier expectations and buyer behaviour.
- Experience shaping complex commercial agreements such as multi-property, multi-event or multi-year deals involving several stakeholders.
- Confidence using AI and data tools to support account research, renewal preparation, pipeline review and prioritisation.
