Our client is a leading global events and exhibitions business.
They are looking for a highly skilled business development Manager to join their team in London.
This role involves driving sponsorship and exhibition revenue through direct sales efforts within a portfolio of global digital and telecoms events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new business, re-engaging dormant accounts, and growing existing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and exceed revenue targets for new business and existing accounts.
- Develop strong understanding of specific market segments and identify new companies to onboard.
- Map company stakeholders and build strong relationships with senior decision makers using a consultative sales approach.
- Identify client services, target audiences, and challenges to tailor sales strategies.
- Create targeted proposals and pitches suitable for various customer seniority levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support event success.
- Provide accurate weekly pipeline updates.
- Travel to attend events and meet prospects or clients.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years' experience B2B event sales experience (Medium to large scale events) ideally within telecoms but other areas will be considered
- Experience in selling complex Sponsorship and Exhibition Stand packages (Sp Ex) - Essential
- Experience in handling and constructing complex packages
- Proven track record in acquiring new business and closing sales - Essential
- Ability to identify and pursue high-quality leads.
- Quick learner with ability to pitch multiple brands.
- Experience managing multiple sales projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of international sales and senior-level engagement.
- Strong personal sales performance history.
- Ability to build relationships with C-level executives.
- Effective stakeholder management across complex client organisations.
- Adaptable sales approach based on client needs.
- Accurate revenue and pipeline forecasting.
- Willingness to travel to various global events around 6-8 times per year
