MI Select is supporting a leading specialist motor insurer with the appointment of a Senior Underwriter – Motor Innovation. This is a market-facing role, working across specialist motor products and playing a key part in the development and execution of underwriting strategy. The role would suit someone who combines strong technical underwriting knowledge with a commercial mindset and the ability to work closely with brokers, pricing, technology, product and operational teams.
You will help shape underwriting appetite, translate specialist motor knowledge into clear underwriting rules, and support sustainable, profitable growth across broker-led channels.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Supporting the development and delivery of underwriting strategy across specialist motor products
- Working closely with pricing, product, technology and operations teams
- Translating underwriting insight into practical rules, appetite and decision-making frameworks
- Managing and developing broker relationships
- Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Supporting proposition development and wider market growth
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong technical motor underwriting experience
- Good knowledge of specialist motor products and broker distribution
- A commercial understanding of pricing, appetite, risk selection and portfolio performance
- Confidence engaging with brokers and internal stakeholders
