An established law firm is looking for a Residential Conveyancing Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join its property team. This opportunity would suit someone with at least six months’ residential conveyancing experience who is looking to develop their knowledge and take on greater responsibility. You will support a varied caseload of freehold and leasehold property transactions, working closely with experienced legal professionals.
Key responsibilities:
- Support residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.
- Assist with both freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
- Open new files and complete client onboarding, identification and compliance checks.
- Prepare correspondence, contracts and standard conveyancing documentation.
- Order property searches and monitor outstanding enquiries.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors, managing agents and other parties.
- Provide clients with clear and timely progress updates.
- Assist with exchange and completion arrangements.
- Support Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions and Land Registry applications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files.
- Monitor important dates and help keep transactions progressing.
- Provide general legal and administrative support to the conveyancing team.
About you:
- At least six months’ experience in residential conveyancing.
- Experience supporting both leasehold and freehold transactions.
- A good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- The confidence to communicate professionally with clients and third parties.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy working environment.
- Good general IT skills.
- Experience using a legal case management system would be helpful but is not essential.
- A formal legal qualification may be beneficial, although relevant practical conveyancing experience is the main requirement.
