Overall Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our client’s Business Analysis team as a Lead Business Analyst. As a part of the COO’s team, the main responsibilities of the role are to fulfil a Senior Business Analyst role on projects (75% of time) and manage the workload and output of the Business Analysis and Business Improvement Analysis (BA/BIA) team (25% of time).
Responsibilities
Provide management of the BA/BIA function that delivers the analysis to understand opportunities for improvement and resolving business problems.
Establish the strategy and plan for developing the BA/BIA function with other functional leads.
Make active contribution to governance boards and setting appropriate controls to develop the team
Manage requests for resource to support business strategies and business needs, driving collaboration between the business and IT, particularly in the early stages of a project
Establish the framework via which the BA/BIA team will undertake working: methodologies, inputs / outputs that contribute to the successful definition of requirements and their validation.
Ensure consistency and standard ways of working for the BA/BIA team, based on business needs and best practice approaches.
Provide high level analysis and review of BA/BIA outputs on projects, ensuring that quality standards are maintained and business requirements are met.
Work with the Head of VMO to define measurable benefits that are aligned to strategy and transformation plans for the business.
Support the COO in leading and championing business analysis
To mentor the wider project delivery teams on Business Analyst techniques, best practices, and adherence to company standards.
Requirements
Business Analysis certifications through BCS/IIBA/BIA, Lean Six Sigma or other.
A Bachelor\’s degree (or similar) in a relevant field such as business, finance, economics or information technology.
At least 2-3 years of demonstrable management experience, as a leader of a BA/BIA or business improvement function.
Must have excellent analytical skills and demonstrate strong user story mapping experience.
Good knowledge and application of Use Cases, Process Maps, Data Flows and Diagrams.
Ability to create processes based using industry standard modelling techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
Have strong planning, communication, and presentation skills along with the capability to listen and influence at all levels of the organisation.
Experience working alongside Developers, Architects, Product Owners and Business Leads.
