About the organisation
Our client is a UK-based specialty insurance and reinsurance business operating within the Lloyd’s market. The business is in a phase of continued development, with a strong focus on planning discipline, performance insight and scalable financial processes.
The role
The FP&A Manager plays a key role within the Finance function, owning end-to-end financial planning, forecasting and modelling activities. The role works closely with senior stakeholders across underwriting, claims, reserving, reinsurance and operations to provide insight, challenge performance and support decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Ownership of business planning, budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes Lloyd’s SBD and SBF and business budgets
- Production of Board, Executive and Committee reporting - supporting narrative and analysis, explaining variances and issues clearly to senior stakeholders
- Acting as the primary Finance point of contact for planning activities
- Development and enhancement of financial planning models
- Partnering with business leads on class and product-level P&Ls
- Supporting automated and scalable planning processes
- Supporting business cases for change and investment initiatives
- Identification and delivery of process improvement opportunities
- Line management and development of junior team members
Requirements
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong FP&A experience within Insurance
- Relevant and recent experience in a multi-line insurance finance role – essential
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – TM1 experience highly desirable
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management capability
