Business Development Manager – Digital and Telecoms Events

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 per annum (Depending experience in sales and events sector knowledge)

OTE: Uncapped with Potential to double base salary – depending on achieving revenue targets

Location: Central London - Hybrid working - 2 days in office 3 days WFH

Our client is a leading global events and exhibitions business. They are looking for a highly skilled business development Manager to join their team in London. This role involves driving sponsorship and exhibition revenue through direct sales efforts within a portfolio of global digital and telecoms events. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new business, re-engaging dormant accounts, and growing existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and exceed revenue targets for new business and existing accounts.
  • Develop strong understanding of specific market segments and identify new companies to onboard.
  • Map company stakeholders and build strong relationships with senior decision makers using a consultative sales approach.
  • Identify client services, target audiences, and challenges to tailor sales strategies.
  • Create targeted proposals and pitches suitable for various customer seniority levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support event success.
  • Provide accurate weekly pipeline updates.
  • Travel to attend events and meet prospects or clients.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience B2B event sales experience (Medium to large scale events) ideally within telecoms but other areas will be considered
  • Experience in selling complex Sponsorship and Exhibition Stand packages (SpEx) - Essential
  • Experience in handling and constructing complex packages
  • Proven track record in acquiring new business and closing sales - Essential
  • Ability to identify and pursue high-quality leads.
  • Quick learner with ability to pitch multiple brands.
  • Experience managing multiple sales projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of international sales and senior-level engagement.
  • Strong personal sales performance history.
  • Ability to build relationships with C-level executives.
  • Effective stakeholder management across complex client organisations.
  • Adaptable sales approach based on client needs.
  • Accurate revenue and pipeline forecasting.
  • Willingness to travel to various global events around 6-8 times per year
