We are a busy, highly respected mechanical garage and MOT centre in Tradeston, Glasgow. We pride ourselves on honest, high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer care. We are looking for a highly organised, friendly, and professional Garage Receptionist to be the heartbeat of our front office, keeping both our customers and our workshop running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers in person, answer incoming calls, and respond to emails in a polite and professional manner.
- Booking & Scheduling: Manage the workshop diary, book in MOTs, servicing, and repairs, and plan the daily workload for our mechanics.
- Parts Coordination: Source vehicle parts from local suppliers, negotiate prices to keep costs down, and order exactly what the technicians need.
- Updates & Invoicing: Contact customers with job quotes, update them on vehicle progress or any unexpected delays, and prepare invoices/process payments.
- Administration: Keep customer records accurate, maintain service histories, and assist with general office administration.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional Communicator: Someone who is confident speaking with people both face-to-face and over the phone.
- Highly Organized: Capable of multitasking, staying calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and keeping the reception area spotless.
- IT Proficient: Comfortable using computers, emails, and Microsoft Office/general garage management systems.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in reception, customer service, or administration. (Note: Automotive/motor trade experience is a massive plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are more important!)
