We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician/Engineer. As a senior member of the team, you will deliver high quality service solutions to the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. You will be expected to provide and deliver a complex service programme and offer onsite repair solutions to a variety of clients across various storage terminals across the UK.
Directly working on electro-mechanical and radar instrumentation/gauges from a variety of manufacturers, such as Honeywell Enraf, Endress + Hauser, Rosemount; alongside supporting MHT’s own hardware and software products and solutions. This role will be office based with regular travel to our customer sites, with overnight stays. Due to our global reach, there may also be opportunities for international travel; you must therefore be willing to travel, sometimes at short notice, but also be within commuting distance of our head office in Melsonby, North Yorkshire.
Following training, you will also join our out-of-hours team, where you may be required to provide our customers with over-the-phone technical assistance.
About you
- With the ability to organise your own workload, you will be disciplined and methodical with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eager and quick to learn, you will have a probing mind, the ability to think laterally and able to work under minimal supervision.
- You will need to be self-motivated, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Due to the nature of the work, you must be comfortable working at heights and be able to travel independently, holding a full drivers’ licence, valid in the UK.
- Ideally you should have HNC/HND/BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification (or similar) and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience in processes, instrumentation, and measurement control, working with tank gauging and flow metering or other industrial equipment.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Knowledge of latest technologies and tools applicable to this field of work.
- CCSNG Safety Passport and Leading a Team Safely.
- Compex Ex01 – Ex04 (or ability to complete within the first 6 months in role).
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings for the purposes of fault diagnosis and rectification.
- Good level of commercial awareness and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Experience of writing summary reports.

- First Aid at Work.
- Supervisory or management experience.
- Experience of managing engineering projects through to completion.
