We are currently seeking for experienced Stock controller & Product checker to join our Warehouse which is located at Bedford. The ideal candidate will be working closely with the warehouse manager to ensure stock management within the warehouse is accurate and timely, producing a stock file which fully optimises the layout and storage of goods on-site to maximise warehouse productivity. You will also work with the guidance of the Product Manager to ensure all inbound and outbound products meet the required standards of quality and packaging to minimise stock loss and customer dissatisfaction.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain optimum layout and accuracy of the stock file.
- Ensure SKUs are received and set up correctly.
- Ensure stock placed in the appropriate position within the location system.
- Resolution of stock queries.
- Identify and deliver process improvements to support continuous efficiency of the stock control department.
- Ensure that the pick face is set up as required for new products.
- Optimise warehouse space for effective utilisation of warehouse capacity.
- Provide Warehouse Manager with up-to-date records of capacity utilisation by area/type.
- Ensure full peak/off peak stock intake is allocated to correct areas within the warehouse to maximise storage and pick efficiencies whilst minimising the amount of replenishment.
- Review stock intake plans to ensure best working practices maintained in relation to bulk storage, pick face and efficiencies in replenishment/picking.
- Record, report results and discrepancies on a daily, weekly, and periodic basis as required by the Warehouse Manager for client SLA reporting including count sheet production, results input, verification, and investigation results.
- Daily random sample counting and Monthly stock analysis.
- Co-ordination of stock movements between sites
- Preparation and execution of annual stock take
- Conducting spot checks in all bulk and pick locations within the warehouse, ensuring stock is aligned to the system and reconciled correctly.
Product batch management:
- Control of dispensation routes such as good stock, scrap & 3rd party B grade stock
- Product Checking
- Check inbound product for quality and adherence.
- Detailed Quality Control product checks and reporting
- Product sample build reports.
- Ad hoc Quality Process
- Reporting any major issues to China HQ Directly
- Work with product manager to recommend improvements and solutions.
- Undertake sample checks for Outbound products.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and other employees Health, Safety and Welfare.
- Supervision, guidance, support, instruction, and training for the development of skills, knowledge, and awareness relative to operational requirements, Health, Safety and Welfare of all staff within areas of responsibility.
- Carry out investigative processes and where appropriate take relevant action with regards to providing improvement to operational deficiencies or highlighting deficiencies through the reporting line.
- Support the commercial objectives of the business through a process of continual review and operational appraisal.
- Ensure levels of housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards throughout areas of responsibility or/and where appropriate informing colleague Managers of improvement requirements.
- Effective communication with all colleagues both internal and external
- Carry out any other duties, which from time to time may be reasonably requested from the site management team.
Personal Requirements:
- The role requires working 5 days out of 7, with shifts on weekends, so flexibility is a must. The shifts may vary with appropriate notice to meet the demands of the business.
- Experience of working within a warehouse environment of at least two years and in a similar role.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and stock control.
- Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines.
- A good communicator both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and to deadlines, using own initiative.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite
- A great team-based approach.
- General awareness of health and safety.
- Attention to detail and diligence.
