Take ownership of a Β£500m+ housing asset portfolio
This 15-month maternity cover role puts you at the heart of critical financial decisions for one of the region's largest housing providers. You'll own the complete fixed assets lifecycle while working with cutting-edge property development projects.
What you'll be doing
Fixed Assets Register Management:
- Own the Keystone register for housing property handovers, disposals and component replacements
- Calculate projected final scheme costs and secure Development Manager sign-off
- Run month-end reports and prepare depreciation journal entries in Open Accounts
Major Repairs & Development Costing:
- Work with Asset Management teams to gather repair data and scrutinise invoices
- Produce reconciliations of capitalised repairs and manage project ledger uploads
- Review construction transactions for VAT compliance and compute inter-group cross-charges
You'll work to demanding 8-day monthly deadlines, combining meticulous transaction processing with investigative analysis.
What we're looking for
Essential experience:
- Fixed assets accounting background with development experience in UK registered housing or regulated property organisations
- Sound knowledge of VAT rules for property development and inter-group recharges
- Proficiency with Excel 365 dynamic-array functions and clean spreadsheet design
- Experience with year-end audit requirements and resolving auditor queries
Key skills:
- Proactive approach to data quality improvements and error detection
- Strong written and verbal communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Highly organised with proven ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
Preferred:
- Professional accounting qualification or part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/AAT)
- Hands-on experience with Keystone, SDS Sequel, Open Accounts or comparable systems
