In public health terms, it is likely that the illegal trade in medicines is
the cause of significant, often largely unreported, harm to the UK public. The
MHRA is one of a very small number of regulators globally equipped with a
dedicated criminal enforcement capability. The CEU works in partnership with
cross-sector partners at home and abroad to defeat the illegal trade –
protecting the public and maintaining regulatory integrity.
