Full‑time, permanent role based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London (E14 4PU). The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) enhances and improves the health of millions of people through the regulation of medicines and medical devices.

What’s the role? Reporting to the Head of the Clinical Pharmacology Team, you will evaluate a range of chemical and biological products, including new active substances, at different development stages. Your reports and advice will influence trial initiation, clinical development decisions, and product availability.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess clinical pharmacology aspects of medicinal products, such as new drugs, formulations, generics, biosimilars, and clinical trial products.
  • Provide pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic advice to colleagues within the division.
  • Interact with other regulatory agencies and present considerations to UK multi‑disciplinary expert advisory committees.
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory guidelines and deliver scientific advice on drug development programmes.

Qualifications & experience

  • Degree in life sciences (pharmacy, pharmacology, medicine, biochemistry, etc.).
  • Experience in at least one of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, biopharmaceutics, or pharmacokinetic modelling (population or physiologically based).
  • Experience should have been gained in industry, academia or government.
  • Up‑to‑date specialist knowledge in relevant scientific areas or broader knowledge across clinical pharmacology activities.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and regulatory procedures for licensing human medicinal products.
  • Evidence of applying scientific perspective to data evaluation and advising others.
