The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) enhances and improves health through effective regulation of medicines and medical devices. The Innovative Devices function provides pre‑market support and facilitates smooth passage to market access, focusing on MedTech, diagnostics, digital and higher‑risk products, and develops the UK regulatory framework for medical devices.
Key responsibilities- Provide operational input into agency’s new regulatory framework planning, ensuring engagement across I&C in policy and contingency planning work.
- Lead and assist on consultation work on the new regulatory framework for devices.
- Represent the Innovative Devices group in cross‑Agency campaigns, ensuring accurate medical‑device regulatory messaging.
- Assist in developing policy underpinning the future regulatory framework and communicate these to wider division and agency; maintain MHRA policy list and ensure evidence base for new policy development.
