At MHR, our employees are central to our success and play a key role in helping customers achieve sustainable high performance. With a team of over 900 professionals, we work to make things flow smoothly, whether it's for large organisations or individual employees. As businesses face rapid changes in the world of work, our team is here to help them adapt and thrive. By focusing on the core needs of efficiency, productivity, growth, and impact, our employees use their expertise to deliver real solutions through our People and Finance platform. This system, which covers finance, HR, payroll, and learning, helps businesses run more smoothly and make better decisions in real time.
With over 40 years of experience behind us, MHR’s track record as a high-performance organisation is built on clear goals, a shared vision, and strong communication - all of which we pass on to our customers. MHR is more than just a place to work; it’s a platform for empowerment. Joining us means bringing innovation, technology, and teamwork seamlessly removes obstacles, enhances your skills, and allows you to focus on what’s most important to you - work that matters. With us, you’ll grow, find your flow, and make a lasting difference in your career, your team, and your impact.
You are a true Product Manager who owns discovery end to end, from identifying customer problems through to shaping a clear proposition and roadmap. You are comfortable running interviews, testing assumptions, and synthesising insights into focused problem statements that drive action. You know where your role ends and are confident handing over to a Product Owner for delivery without needing to stay close to sprint-level detail. You bring experience from B2B SaaS or fintech and understand the buyer, the sales cycle, and how products succeed in market. You communicate clearly through concise product documents that create alignment, and you define success before work begins - setting measurable outcomes and holding yourself accountable for them. When you talk about your work, you talk about what changed for the customer or the business, not just what you shipped. Output is a by-product - outcome is the goal. You are comfortable working in ambiguity and are motivated by building something new rather than maintaining existing products. You want to leave a measurable mark on what you build.
Your Team: You will join a lean Finance product function designed for focus and impact. This is a small team building from scratch, with high ownership and the opportunity to shape how the function operates. Product Managers own discovery, strategy, and outcomes, while Product Owners focus on delivery, ensuring the role remains genuinely strategic. You will work closely with the Product Director in a culture built on trust, autonomy, and direct communication. You will not be micromanaged, but support and challenge are always available. Success is collective, and you will have a real say in defining ways of working as the team grows.
Your Impact: You will define the problems worth solving and shape the product direction from the ground up. Your work will directly influence what is built, why it matters, and how it performs in the market. You will contribute to bringing a new product to market, ensuring decisions are grounded in customer insight and tied to meaningful business outcomes. Success in this role is measured by the impact you create for customers and the business, not the volume of features delivered.
Skills:
- Strong commercial instinct - connects product decisions to revenue, retention, and competitive positioning.
- Excellent communicator - equally credible writing a one-pager or presenting to an exec audience.
- Outcome-oriented - defines success in terms of customer and business impact, not feature lists.
- Comfortable with ambiguity - moves forward with incomplete information while managing risk explicitly.
- Confident influencer - drives alignment without formal authority.
Experience:
- 3–6 years in a product management role with demonstrated ownership of discovery and roadmap.
- Track record of shipping product that moved commercial or customer outcomes - not just delivery.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with discovery frameworks - Jobs to Be Done, Opportunity Solution Tree - is beneficial.
Benefits to support you personally and professionally: Alongside the opportunity to work with an incredible team and express your individuality, we offer a range of personalised benefits including:
- Access to over 60 internal training courses, professional qualifications, and cross-departmental mentoring and coaching programs.
- 24/7 access to a GP through Help at Hand for you and your family, confidential mental health support, and paid sick leave.
- Ability to purchase or sell additional holiday days beyond 25 days and bank holidays.
- Enhanced Family leave.
- My MHRewards offering discounts at over 900 retailers.
- Monthly employee recognition program and departmental awards.
- Referral bonus scheme of up to £2,000.
- Employee-led social events such as running clubs, football teams, book clubs, and bake-offs.
- On-site subsidised restaurants offering a variety of fresh meals daily.
- Opt-in benefits schemes such as private medical insurance and dental coverage.
