Your Team: You’ll be part of our dynamic People First engineering team, where you’ll work with the most cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with experts, and contribute to the rapid growth of our PeopleFirst SaaS system.

Your Impact: As a Principal Web Engineer at MHR, you’re not just writing code – you’re architecting the future of software solutions. You’ll drive excellence in every aspect, from user interface design to maintaining a high-quality code base, collaborating with like-minded Web Developers, shaping innovative solutions, and coaching the team to tackle complex business challenges head-on.

Working hybrid with 3 days a week in our Ruddington Head Office, your role will be to govern and contribute to the web codebase, driving technology, process and people change to ensure sustainable web delivery across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with delivery, platform, and architecture teams to align the functional roadmap with uncompromising quality of service.
  • Lead the way by governing and actively contributing to the evolution of our web codebase through hands-on development.
  • Transform ground-breaking ideas into reality, producing proof of concepts to de-risk delivery and elucidate intricate concepts.
  • Elevate coding standards by automating processes, ensuring extensive test coverage for sustainable delivery.
  • Provide essential guidance during planning, design reviews, and incident management to empower web engineers.
  • Cultivate consensus among peers on cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
  • Play a vital role in recruitment campaigns, hiring highly skilled engineers, and shaping the interview process to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop, coach and mentor juniors on the team, supporting their professional growth and establishing personal development plans.

What you’ll bring to the role and MHR:

  • Experience working on and building modern enterprise Angular applications.
  • Solid understanding of HTML/HTML5, JavaScript/Typescript, CSS/SASS.
  • Good understanding of Accessibility, Responsive and Adaptive design, working with UX/UI design documents.
  • Knowledge of Web security, RESTful Web Services.
  • Experience with modern unit testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful architecture and API design principles.
  • Deep knowledge of software engineering concepts such as design patterns, SOLID principles, polymorphism, and threading.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services for cloud-based development.
  • Experience with advising on common UX components within a design system using technologies such as Storybook.
