As an Associate Director at MHP Group, you will:

  • Lead a day-to-day portfolio of integrated corporate PR campaigns and accounts across a variety of industries.
  • Be a key point of contact and consultant for the agency’s Masterbrand Differentiation campaigns offer.
  • Lead on earned media strategies/storytelling and bring together other experts in other disciplines including creative, digital, social, public affairs and paid media to ensure harmonious and complementary communications.
  • Lead integrated client teams to deliver campaigns that reach a variety of corporate audiences and stakeholders.
  • Instil best practice client management across the team; take responsibility for building relationships with senior client contacts.
  • Develop and oversee content for thought leadership campaigns across earned, owned and social channels.
  • Identify and respond to opportunities for organic growth across client base.
  • Lead small and medium-sized new business pitches and support on bigger opportunities.
  • Ensure we deploy best-in-class measurement techniques to demonstrate the value of our work.
  • Oversee quality of the team’s written output: press releases, media commentary, opinion pieces, proposals etc.
  • Lead by example: inspiring more junior members of the team by bringing the outside in, being aware of developments and activity within the comms industry.
  • Undertake responsibilities as a senior member of the Brand & Reputation team, including development of marketing collateral to promote the work of the practice.

You will:

  • Have at least seven years’ PR experience, ideally working in medium/large agencies.
  • Have a passion for integrated storytelling and campaigning.
  • Have a portfolio (past or present) of creative and impactful corporate campaigns / activations.
  • Be an earned media specialist: a thorough understanding of the media and what makes a good corporate story.
  • Have digital expertise: specific experience in turning earned media strategies into complementary social/digital activations.
  • Have curiosity for, and background with, specialists in other disciplines including creative, paid media and public affairs.
  • Have the ability to lead accounts, overseeing and bringing together teams delivering project and retainer work.
  • Have the ability to counsel client contacts – from PR Managers to CEOs – with confidence, calmness and clarity.
  • Be highly organised: this person will be relied upon to run busy accounts and ensure the team are delivering effectively and efficiently.
  • Be a strong writer: skilled at writing client activity proposals, opinion pieces and new business proposals.
  • Be brave thinking: someone who’s not afraid to try something new.
  • Be a team player: great interpersonal skills, and someone who brings a sense of fun to their work.
  • Have a passion for news, culture and current affairs.
