About us Mhor 84 Motel in Balquidder is looking for an experienced, ambitious, passionate Head Chef who is creative, a real foodie, a people person, and has excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills. This is a hands-on role. This may suit someone who is a Senior Sous at the moment looking for their first Head Chef role.
You will take the lead in the kitchen working with the existing team but also work closely with the Hotel team to offer each customer a memorable visit and the need to return to taste your great food. No agencies please. Temporary until November or Permanent depending on what suits.
Live Out - Ideally, the individual will live locally or within commutable distance of the hotel.

- Must be a hands-on Head Chef with the ability to cook with fresh ingredients and present dishes, in line with specification and recipes, in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead from the front, train and inspire your team to produce consistent, fresh food.
- Knowledge of cooking Scottish cuisine.
- Check all dishes on pass before serving.
- The capability to deliver food GP% to budget.
- Experience in all kitchen administration, management of stock control with good computer skills, and has great relationships or the ability to build relationships with our suppliers.
- Experience of training, coaching, and inspiring junior chefs and staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working alongside our existing preferred supplier list but negotiating prices with suppliers on behalf of Mhor 84 and company.
- Exemplary standards of personal hygiene and presentation.
- A strong understanding of food health and safety, keeping all legislation and licences up to date.
- Experience of being a Head Chef or Senior Sous in a Gastro Pub or hotel is a must as this is a senior role within a busy kitchen.
- Must have excellent command of English.
- You must be able to drive with your own transport for this role to be considered.
