Here, You'll Go Beyond Numbers

  • Designing innovative initial drafts and core materials for tax training programmes and updates to be used by MHA employees and for external users (MHA, BTI, Clients, etc.) where appropriate; further refined in partnership by the Senior Tax Training Manager.
  • Updating and maintenance of a formalised Tax Technical resources that can be easily accessed by firm members.
  • Some delivery of general courses (ensuring the tax courses integrate with other areas of training such as audit, soft skills, etc.) that could cover any aspect of our business.
  • Research and content creation support for 6-monthly tax update type courses for use by internal staff (tax / non-tax / Partners).
  • Research and content creation support of FD A&A and Tax Updates for Clients.
  • Design and maintenance support for a programme of specialist tax courses as required.
  • Courses delivered via numerous mediums - Live, Webinar, Pre-recorded online course.

Trainees Tax Programme

  • Work with the Senior Tax Training Manager in the continued development and delivery of our Trainee development programme - this would include the following:
  • Creation and some delivery of Introduction to Tax session for trainee induction (Live and Online sessions).
  • Creation, maintenance, and some delivery of a 3-year tax training programme that trainees would attend on a regular basis (live or online) that gives them both the knowledge and professional development skills needed for their qualification, as well as a practical understanding, and best-practice points of how the firm provides its services.
  • Should be relevant to all trainees regardless of stream.
  • Audit Technical modules for trainees used as a basis of reference for structure.
  • Specialist tax modules.
  • Support the Training Leader with the creation of tax training modules for non-tax trainees.
  • Where relevant - marking and commenting on module assessments.

Development of One Firm tax approaches

  • Supporting the Senior Tax Training Manager consultations with relevant tax heads and departments to discuss current processes.
  • This would be explored across DAC 6, CBC, MTD, Income and Corporate tax service lines.
  • Liaise with IT and help drive implementation.
  • Upon gaining approvals of the process - research and materials creation of firm-wide training that ensures both understanding and buy-in to the new processes.
  • Creation and maintenance of an internal audit process that ensures departments are adopting best practices, and reporting to the appropriate persons when issues are identified and liaising with the technical department to ensure procedures are QAD/FRC compatible.

Other Responsibilities

  • Creation support and Maintenance of a Tax Technical Resource (via the Training Academy/ Hub) that would allow staff quick and easy access to core tax & process knowledge.
  • To act as a go-between to align training with the tax needs, marketing, recruitment, and innovation with the Heads of Tax within the Firm.
  • Supporting the Training leader and Senior Tax Training Manager in development, evaluation, and maintenance of relevant online modules - seeking to always make our training as innovative and engaging as possible.
  • Spotting potential knowledge gaps with both staff and clients - and subsequent creation and delivery of material to mitigate these.
  • To support the design development of courses on all areas of our business, including Audit, soft skills, and functional processes.
  • To act as cover for the Senior Tax Training Manager.
