People Services Manager
£47,138 per annum
Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hybrid working, with travel to MHA locations as required
We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated People Services Manager. This is an opportunity to lead and develop a team whose work helps new colleagues get off to a positive start and supports managers and colleagues through clear, consistent and responsive people processes.
Reporting to the Head of People Operations, you will be responsible for the delivery of our People Services function, covering onboarding, immigration sponsorship, workforce compliance, contractual changes and references, including those for former colleagues.
You will ensure that the service balances a positive candidate and colleague experience with the accuracy, care and assurance needed within our organisation.
You will lead, support and develop the team, providing clear direction, managing priorities and workloads, and building confidence and capability through coaching and regular feedback. You will promote a culture where colleagues feel valued and supported, understand their responsibilities and take pride in delivering a professional and timely service.
You will use reporting and quality assurance to identify gaps, ensure appropriate action is taken and provide clear assurance on service performance and compliance. Sound judgement and the ability to recognise and escalate significant risks will be important.
Continuous improvement will be a key part of the role. You will review how we work, identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce delays, and help make effective use of our systems and technology. You will also oversee relationships with external providers, ensuring their services support our operational needs and a positive experience for candidates, managers and colleagues.
You will bring experience of leading an onboarding, HR operations or workforce compliance service, together with experience of managing and developing a team. You will have practical knowledge of right to work, DBS and sponsorship requirements, strong organisational skills and the confidence to build relationships and influence at all levels.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who combines a supportive approach with clear accountability and a commitment to making things work better. In return, you will have the opportunity to shape and strengthen our People Services function within a compassionate and inclusive team, guided by MHA’s values of respect, inspire and nurture.
