The Head of Admissions & Compliance is a newly created senior role that will oversee the full admissions cycle, data integrity, and immigration compliance across the group's global operations.

Role Overview

The Head of Admissions & Compliance will lead the groups international admissions and compliance teams, ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of student applications from enquiry to enrolment. Working closely with the Director of Recruitment, Director of Partnerships, and other senior stakeholders, you will drive strategic improvements, strengthen operational resilience, and safeguard the UKVI compliance performance for MH Group.

You will have strategic oversight of pre-CAS, pre-arrival, and post-enrolment compliance, ensuring that the group meets regulatory obligations and maintains high standards of data accuracy, reporting, and record-keeping. With substantial growth in student numbers, you will play a key role in risk management, UKVI readiness, and operational quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Admissions Leadership
    • Lead and manage AHZ's and ConnectedHE international admissions teams, ensuring timely, accurate, and student-focused processing of applications.
    • Oversee the continuous improvement of admissions workflows, protocols, and decision-making frameworks.
    • Ensure admissions systems, CRM processes, and data flows support efficiency and accuracy at all stages of the student journey.
    • Drive consistency, quality, and cross-team resilience during peak periods of recruitment.
  • Compliance
    • Oversee all UKVI compliance activities including CAS issuance, credibility checks, document verification, and engagement monitoring.
    • Monitor UKVI-required data (pre- and post-arrival) and ensure timely reporting and escalation where risks arise.
    • Produce regular compliance reports, analysing trends and advising senior leadership on risk mitigation, performance indicators, and required interventions.
    • Ensure internal procedures align with UKVI rules, sector best practice, and updated immigration legislation.
  • Data Quality & Reporting
    • Review and validate international student data to ensure accuracy across systems.
    • Produce detailed operational and compliance reports to support decision-making.
    • Use professional judgement to interpret data outputs, identify anomalies, and initiate corrective actions.
    • Lead trend analysis, root-cause investigations, and development of response plans for emerging issues.
  • Stakeholder & Regulator Management
    • Build strong working relationships with UK partner universities, compliance teams, and admissions offices.
    • Collaborate with global colleagues across the Group's international offices to align practices, share knowledge, and promote compliance culture.
    • Liaise with external regulators and ensure effective preparation for audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
    • Provide training, guidance, and updates to internal teams on immigration rules and compliance procedures.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Lead projects to enhance efficiency, including automation, workflow optimisation, and documentation improvements.
    • Ensure robust record-keeping and audit trails across all admissions and compliance processes.
    • Develop and maintain clear procedural manuals, guidance notes, and quality assurances.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Background in compliance and/or experience working with international students.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK student immigration policies, UKVI rules, and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience managing global teams or working with international colleagues and student populations.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with external bodies such as universities, compliance officers, and regulators.
  • Audit experience, including preparation and response.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, develop reports, and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence engaging multiple stakeholders.
  • High level of computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, CRM systems, and data management tools.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, analyse cause and effect, and drive timely resolutions.
  • Ability to work across different levels and functional areas within an organisation.
