Site Engineer - Documentation & Setting Out Plymouth £45k-55k + Car Allowance & Accommodation
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure project based near Plymouth. This permanent role sits on a long-term, high-profile marine development expected to continue beyond 2029, offering genuine stability and career progression.
This position is focused primarily on site documentation and quality, with the ability to support setting out and survey when required.
Due to the site being a high-security base, additional security checks will be required. BPSS level security clearance is necessary, and these checks can take 4-6 weeks to process. Only candidates who hold an EU, NATO, Five Eyes or MISWG member passport, and who have been UK resident for the last 5 years, can be considered for this role.
Duties:
Producing, reviewing and managing RAMS for site activities
Developing and maintaining ITPs and quality check sheets
Compiling and maintaining site records, as-builts and quality documentation
Supporting permits, briefings and site compliance
Carrying out setting out and survey works as required
Liaising with site management, subcontractors and the design team
Requirements:
A civil engineering or construction-related qualification (HNC, BSc, BEng, MEng or similar)
Proven experience writing RAMS and ITPs on civils or infrastructure projects
Confident with Leica survey equipment - GPS, total station and levels
CSCS card (White PQP/AQP, or Red Trainee/Provisional)
Must be eligible to obtain BPSS security clearance
Desirable: TWS/TWC, SSSTS, First Aid at Work, quality management experience, or nuclear/defence experience
Package:
£45,000-£55,000 (depending on experience)
