The Role

The Life Cost & Financial Reporting (LC&FR) programme is a multi-year transformation initiative designed to modernise and simplify the Life Finance operating model. The programme will deliver improvements to financial reporting processes, systems and controls, reducing reliance on manual processes and external contractors while strengthening the control environment.

The programme supports the broader Life business strategy and Finance transformation agenda by enhancing the quality, timeliness and efficiency of reporting across IFRS and regulatory requirements. It will also improve integration between Finance, Actuarial and Systems functions, enabling scalable and sustainable support for business growth.

Lead subject matter expertise (SME) across Life financial reporting and accounting to support delivery of the Life Cost & Financial Reporting (LC&FR) transformation programme.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide technical accounting leadership across Life products, ensuring outcomes align to IFRS, Solvency UK and internal policy requirements
  • Act as the primary SME interface between Finance, Actuarial, Change and Systems teams
  • Lead design and implementation of target-state reporting processes and controls
  • Review and challenge accounting treatments, journal design and reporting outputs
  • Support development of robust control frameworks aligned to audit and regulatory expectations
  • Provide oversight and coaching to SME accountants and offshore resources (Mumbai)
Experience & skills
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong Life insurance accounting knowledge (IFRS / regulatory reporting)
  • Experience in finance transformation or system-led change programmes
  • Strong stakeholder management across Finance, Actuarial and Technology
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions
