M&G Private Markets – Investment Specialists
M&G is seeking an outstanding Investment Specialist to support its Diversified Private Debt (DPD) capability, one of the firm’s core private credit strategies within its £80bn AUM Private Markets business. The DPD team sits within Private Markets and manages over £7bn of funds and segregated mandates for institutional clients, including insurers and pension schemes. The strategy brings together more than a decade of experience constructing and managing diversified private debt portfolios across market cycles.
About Diversified Private Debt
The Diversified Private Debt (DPD) team sits within Private Markets at M&G and manages over £7bn of funds and segregated mandates for institutional clients including insurers and pension schemes. The DPD team comprises 12 investment professionals, several of whom have been in the team since the strategy was launched more than a decade ago and has more than a decade of experience of managing private debt portfolios for clients. The investment universe for the DPD strategy spans the entire M&G Private Markets universe, which includes corporate, infrastructure and real estate debt, as well as structured credit. The team invests across the full maturity and credit spectrum. This includes both IG and non-IG and fixed, floating rate and inflation linked debt. The team will manage M&G’s first Long Term Asset Fund (the M&G Diversified Private Credit LTAF) which will launch this year, allowing defined contribution pension schemes and certain retail investors to access a diversified private credit portfolio in a semi-liquid format.
The Role
This role sits within the Investment Specialist and Client Director group in Private Markets Capital Solutions, responsible for representing the platform to clients and translating investment capabilities into portfolio solutions. While part of the Investment Specialist and Client Director group, Investment Specialists are fully embedded into investment teams. The successful candidate will sit within the Diversified Private Debt investment team, working closely with portfolio managers and investment professionals on day-to-day strategy, portfolio positioning and client communication.
This dual positioning offers a unique opportunity to:
- Combine deep asset class expertise with client-facing responsibility
- Shape how the strategy is presented within broader multi-asset private markets portfolios
- Play a key role in the growth and development of one of M&G’s core credit platforms
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an individual with:
- Strong understanding of private credit markets, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, private placements or structured credit
- Ability to engage with portfolio construction, performance analysis and investment discussions
- An entrepreneurial spirit with comfort being at the intersection between investments, sales and product
- Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging with institutional clients
